Holiday 2007 Top 40 Online Retail Satisfaction Index

Customer satisfaction during the 2007 holiday season with the Top 40 US online retailers slipped one point (1.3%) from last year, according to the Top 40 Online Retail Satisfaction Index.

This annual study measures online shopper satisfaction with the Top 40 online retailers by sales volume (as determined by Internet Retailer) using the scientific methodology of the University of Michigan’s American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI). The research gauges how satisfied online shoppers are, and how satisfaction influences whether they’re likely to buy again from the retailer (online or offline), recommend the site, and remain loyal to the retailer in the future.

Key findings of the third annual holiday edition of the research include:

  • Aggregate customer satisfaction with online retail is down one point (1.3%) from holiday 2006
  • Netflix (86) and Amazon (82) lead the Top 40 in customer satisfaction during the  critical holiday period
